Escape from Tarkov Wipe History

Welcome to the "How Long Has It Been Since Nikita Crushed Our Souls?" timeline.

Plot twist: on November 15, 2025 Tarkov hit 1.0, crawled out of beta after ~8 years, landed on Steam, and BSG declared the era of forced wipes over β€” your main character and stash are now persistent. So is this page a museum exhibit now? Maybe! Or maybe it's a "to be continued." Wipes have simply put on a disguise: optional Seasons (Season 1 "Kord Breach" is inbound ~July 2026) and voluntary Prestige resets β€” and the gap between "optional seasonal wipe" and plain old "wipe" is doing a lot of heavy lifting. We're keeping the timeline warm, just in case.

This table chronicles the illustrious history of Escape from Tarkov's wipes - those periodic interventions where we suddenly understand what it feels like to be on a hoarding TV show, watching helplessly as a stranger declares our precious collection of rusty kettles and empty mayo jars (read: meta M4s and thicc item cases) "worthless" and tosses them into a dumpster.

Each wipe is a beautiful reset, where Nikita, in his infinite wisdom, decides we're having too much fun and need to start over. Marvel at the erratic patterns of these cycles, as unpredictable as the game's netcode.

Gaze upon the "notable events" column and reminisce about those times when we thought, "Surely, this update will fix everything!" (Spoiler: It didn't.)

From the shorter wipes where your bad friends "didn't have time" to get kappa, to the endless ones that brought us all back to Minecraft - it's all here.

Use this page to know more about wipe history than your smooth-brained squad members, and to remind yourself why you keep coming back to this beautiful disaster of a game.

Remember, in Tarkov, the real treasure was the sanity we lost along the way.

2025-11-15 "Never" *Longest Wipe* 1.0 - FULL RELEASE. Out of beta after ~8 years, launched on Steam, with one last reset to mark the occasion. BSG declared forced wipes OVER: your main character + stash are now persistent, with optional Seasonal characters (Season 1 "Kord Breach" inbound ~July 2026, complete with choose-your-own bonuses/nerfs) and Prestige as the only voluntary reset. "No more wipes," they said. The day count on this row is us holding them to it. 259 days
2025-07-09 2025-11-15 The "Hardcore" wipe. No flea market, secure containers gutted (no meds/ammo/currency), mandatory (and gloriously buggy) transit, 3-5x insurance, and traders drip-fed back via Nikita's "wavelike" unlocks. The final beta-era wipe β€” and the most masochistic of the lot. 129 days

Tarkov Wipe FAQ

When was the most recent Escape from Tarkov wipe?

The most recent full wipe began on November 15, 2025 β€” the Escape from Tarkov 1.0 release, which BSG insists is the last forced wipe ever. (This page is a museum of reasons to stay skeptical.)

How long do Escape from Tarkov wipes last?

Across recorded wipes, cycles have ranged from about 90 to 237 days, averaging roughly 168 days.

When is the next Escape from Tarkov wipe expected?

Officially? Never again β€” 1.0 ended forced wipes, so your main character and stash are here to stay. Unofficially, the next reset is the first optional Season, "Kord Breach," expected around July 2026 β€” an opt-in seasonal wipe with choose-your-own bonuses and nerfs. Battlestate Games rarely confirms dates in advance, and "never" has a funny way of not lasting in Tarkov.
